Impact Mentorship

The Impact Mentorship Program was established by a long-time volunteer from E3 Learning Partners and is led by a dedicated group of UCSB STEM students. The program aims to assist junior high school students in navigating teenage stress and discovering the joy of learning. Our mentors aspire to be supportive older siblings—trusted guides with whom students can openly discuss the challenges of growing up and find motivation to achieve their future goals.

WHO WE ARE

The mentors of IMPACT Mentorship are a diverse group of UCSB students and alumni, united by a passion for lifelong learning across various subjects, primarily in STEM fields. Although we come from different backgrounds, we share a common goal: to inspire academic enthusiasm in the next generation and give back to our community.

WHAT WE DO

We offer after-school mentorship sessions twice a month, featuring a mix of presentations, discussion groups, and interactive activities. These sessions cover a range of college-level topics designed to spark academic curiosity and inspire students.

WHY WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

As young and successful students at a four year university known for its highly social culture, our mentors occupy the ideal intersection between academic excellence and interpersonal intelligence to engage with the middle school demographic as relatable role models. The best way to prepare students for highschool success is to give them a concrete example of how fun and fascinating academic endeavor in college life can be. Beyond this we will  teach material unlike anything they’ve seen so far, with an emphasis on material that can empower them in their daily lives.
